Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick Review

The social media world has been buzzing this past week about something called Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick. What exactly is this lipstick with the crazy name? Find out as we take a closer look in our review.

What is Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick?

Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick is a brand new lipstick created by beauty brand Kailijumei. The clear-colored lipstick comes infused with some unique ingredients and decorations, including jelly, gold flakes, and a tiny flower placed directly in the center of the tube.

You know that glass-encased rose in Beauty and the Beast? Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick looks kind of like that. The flower is mysteriously floating in the middle of the tube. The unique appearance is a big reason why so many people have started posting the lipstick on Instagram and other social media platforms.

As Cosmopolitan so colorfully explained, “It’s mesmerizing AF to look at and makes for a pretty dope Insta pic.”

Interestingly enough, the color of the lipstick changes colors on your lips depending on your body temperature. All of the shades are some version of a glossy pink color. Oh, and did I mention that’s a real flower inside the tube?

Kailijumei, by the way, is a Chinese beauty product manufacturer. They recently expanded to the United States – which is why you’re only hearing about them now. The company claims to sell “cheap, high quality makeup.”

So far, the jelly lipsticks are the only Kailijumei products currently available to American customers.

How Does Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick Work?

As mentioned above, Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick changes color after it’s applied to your lips.

There are actually two products as part of the lineup, including a jelly lipstick and a clear balm. The jelly lipstick changes color and gives your lips a pink tint as it responds to the temperature of your body.

Kailijumei claims the lipsticks are all moisturizing. Many people describe them as more like a lip gloss or lip gel than a lipstick.

Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick is Currently Sold Out

All of the social media and Instagram attention has led to some supply problems at Kailijumei HQ: the Chinese beauty product maker is currently sold out of all lipsticks.

That’s led to a huge surge in counterfeit lipsticks appearing on the internet. The company is warning customers to avoid these products as they may contain some seriously dangerous chemicals. If you’re going to buy the lipstick, make sure you buy from the official website or from authorized retailers and trusted stores.

What Are the Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick Ingredients?

The real Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick, by the way, contains natural ingredients like candelilla resin, cocoa butter, beeswax, and lavender oil.

Multiple Colors Available at $30 Each

There are currently three different varieties of lipstick available, all of which are priced at $30 each. The three colors include:

  • Flame Red
  • Barbie Pink Power
  • Minute Maid

As mentioned above, all three colors are currently sold out. It’s unclear when Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick will be getting more lipsticks in stock.

Clear Balm Available for $25

Kailijumei also sells a clear balm that doesn’t change colors after being applied to your lips.

That clear balm is priced at $25.

There’s also a lineup of plain jelly lipsticks that have the same unique clear appearance as the Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick lineup – although they don’t have the flower inside. There are four different colors available, all of which are priced at $25. You can’t actually pick your color (Kailijumei picks it automatically at checkout) although they all give your lips the same pink tint.

Should You Use the Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick?

The Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick has been tearing up a storm on social media. However, it’s difficult to vouch for the lipstick yet as it’s in the early stages of its popularity. Copies of the lipstick are also hard to find. Based on the ingredients listed above (like beeswax, cocoa butter, and lavender oil), I don’t see how the lipstick could change color without the use of some chemicals.  However, there’s no denying that the effect is very cool to see in action.
