GOPO is a nutritional supplement that promises to use the power of rosehip with galactolipids to provide long-term joint care and support.
What is GOPO?
GOPO is a dietary supplement that promises to help you maintain healthy and flexible joints. The supplement’s active ingredient is rosehip with “galactolipids”.
The supplement has been available around the world for years. It’s used extensively across Europe and just recently arrived in America.
Unlike many joint pain nutritional supplements sold online today, GOPO has also gone through legitimate clinical trials and studies. In one study, 8 out of 10 people who took GOPO experienced reduced joint pain with no reported side effects after 3 weeks.
How Does GOPO Work?
GOPO’s power comes from galactolipids. These unique molecules, according to the manufacturer, “stabilize neutrophil membranes, reducing their migration into tissues which can cause inflammation.”
The reason that works is because after exercising or being active, your neutrophils (a type of white blood cell) will migrate into the delicate tissues around your joints. This inflames your joints and causes joint pain and stiffness.
Years ago, scientists found a connection between galactolipids and anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation. Galactolipids aren’t fat molecules from space (despite what you may think from the name). Instead, they’re a naturally-occurring molecule found in rosehip.
Galactolipids reduce neutrophil migration while boosting cartilage and collagen production, treating joint pain at the source. They also work as anti-oxidants to combat free radicals. By stabilizing neutrophils and reducing migration into tissues, they alleviate pain throughout your body.

At a more basic level, rosehip works because it contains special compounds that push harmful compounds away from your tissues and joints.
Benefits of GOPO
The makers of GOPO advertise all of the following benefits:
- Maintains mobility and flexibility
- Helps with occasional joint stiffness
- Boosts collagen formation
- Reduces tiredness and fatigue you experience with aging joints
- Helps you get a good night’s sleep
Overall, GOPO is advertised as a way to go about your daily activities without pain or discomfort. It’s marketed towards people who have daily, ongoing pain as well as those who experience pain after exercising or working out.
GOPO Ingredients
GOPO contains just three ingredients: rosehip, gelatin, and vitamin C. Rosehip naturally contains some levels of vitamin C, although it also appears that the manufacturer adds some additional vitamin C in the form of sodium ascorbate. Here’s the dosage of each ingredient in a 4 capsule serving:
- 3g rosehip powder
- 24mcg of GOPO (glycoside of mono and diglycerol)
- 40mg of vitamin C
In terms of dosage, GOPO appears to use a much lower dosage than what we’ve seen used in other rosehip studies. Each 4 capsule serving contains 3g of rosehip powder. However, in studies like this one, published in May 1999, participants were given 45g of rosehip daily for 4 weeks before lowering the dosage to 10g for another 4 week period. That’s a significantly higher dosage than what’s found in GOPO.
However, GOPO uses a proprietary version of rosehip extract that’s standardized to a higher level of purity. That version is called Hyben Vital, and it’s undergone a number of studies that show it works when taking 5 grams daily. In this study, for example, patients who took 5g of Hyben Vital daily for 3 months experienced a drop in LDL cholesterol of 5%. It also lowered C-reactive protein, although researchers did not say whether or not it reduced pain.
Who Makes GOPO?
GOPO is made in the United Kingdom by a company named G.R. Lane Health Products. That company is based in Gloucester, UK. The rosehip extract is imported from Denmark.
The company was founded in 1930 and makes a wide variety of herbal medicines, supplements, and other natural products. Some of the company’s most popular products include Olbas Oil, Kalms tablets, Kalms Day, Kalms Sleep, LitoVet, and GOPO Joint Health.
The company recently expanded its GOPO Joint Health supplement into America, which is why you may be hearing about it for the first time today.

Should You Use GOPO to Reduce Joint Pain?
GOPO is a nutritional supplement that uses a highly-pure form of rosehip extract to stabilize the number of white blood cells inflaming your tissue after a workout. The supplement is popular throughout Europe and is made in the UK by a nutritional supplement company that was founded in 1930.
Furthermore, the company has also listed a number of studies that have been performed on rosehip extract, including plenty of Scandinavian studies reinforcing the benefits of Hyben Vital, which is the unique rosehip extract used in GOPO.
Based on all of this information, GOPO appears to work as advertised to treat joint pain and reduce inflammation throughout your body.
