Lybrate is a health care platform that wants to make it easier for Indians to access doctors and other medical professionals from your phone. Here’s our Lybrate review.
What is Lybrate?
Lybrate is an India-based medical platform that connects patients with doctors. The goal of the app is to make it easier for anyone to get in touch with a doctor over their phone.
The app is available through Android and iOS, as well as a web-based platform.
Patients can ask doctors questions – and even ask questions anonymously, if they wish. You can choose from a range of different medical professionals – including everything from a gynecologist to a sexologist to an Ayurvedic specialist.
The New Delhi-based company earned $10.2 million in funding back in 2015. It was originally founded in 2013.
Lybrate comes with all of the following features:
- 90,000+ verified doctors, all of whom go through a “stringent verification process”, according to Lybrate
- 24/7 access to healthcare
- Save time and money, including saving up to 70% in time and money spent for consultations
- 100% care guaranteed – if you’re unhappy with Lybrate’s service, they’ll refund your money
- Multiple medicine categories available, including sexologist, Ayurveda, dermatologist, psychologist, gynecologist, dietitians/nutritionists, homeopaths, and more
- Access to health tips from top doctors, broken down into categories like Everyday Living, Parenting, Pregnancy, and Conditions
You don’t have to subscribe to Lybrate to access these features. Instead, you just download the app for free and enjoy access to most of the basic features listed above. You only pay once you’re ready to actually consult a doctor online.
Users can use Lybrate for free (doctors need to pay a monthly fee to get listed through the app). However, when users consult a doctor privately, they’ll need to pay online fees.
These fees are decided by doctors themselves – so they vary widely between doctors. On top of their doctor visit fee, Lybrate charges an “internet handling fee”.
Lybrate’s service is available throughout most of the major metro areas of India. A recent promotion for Lybrate lab tests was available in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Chennai.
Meanwhile, doctors can sign up for Lybrate’s clinic plans here. The basic plans start at around 888 Rs ($13 USD) for one clinic.
Should You Sign Up for Lybrate?
India is one of many countries that struggles to deliver adequate health care to an enormous population. This has led many people to turn to at-home remedies and cures – many of which can be dangerous. Lybrate wants to help Indians get professional medical advice anytime, anywhere, from the convenience of their mobile device. The health platform is free to use, although users will pay fees when they need to actually talk to a doctor.
The app puts healthcare within reach for people across India. The app currently has 90,000 doctors in its network, and that number continues to grow every day.
