A solution to this is having an indoor garden in the apartment. However, this is easier said than done. Traditional pots have ventilation holes at the bottom to remove excess soil and water. This makes them really messy to be kept indoors.
Plants when kept indoor don’t get sufficient lighting and moisture. Apart from this, the design of traditional pots are very bulky and most of the times ruins the aesthetics of an apartment.
About LeGrow – The Smart Indoor Garden
LeGrow is the creation of Singapore-based Chinese industrial designer Haobin Lin. He wanted to bring the beauty of nature to his daughter and as leaving the city was impossible he started to create an indoor garden.
He drew inspiration from his daughter’s favorite toy, LEGO blocks. The design allows you to stack and expand your pots and everyone can create their unique garden just like a LEGO building creation.
Key Features of LeGrow
- Water reservoir: LeGrow is integrated with an internal water reservoir which captures the excess water for reuse. This design allows for the pots to be placed directly on your desk without the risk of leakage.
- LED Grow Lamp: Their two-bulb LED grow lamp provides nourishing light to plants, even in rooms without windows. These lights are rated for a maximum of 50,000 Lux and produce 3000 K color temperature to mimic sunlight.
- 360° Humidifier: Most indoor plants die due to lack of moisture in the air. LeGrow comes with a custom-designed humidifier with an intriguing bulbus reservoir that can diffuse moisture 360 degrees, providing necessary water for plant growth. In addition the humidifier reduces eye strain, softens skin and helps with respiratory problems.
- Quick Charging Pot: Each power pot includes waterproof USB 3.0 Quick Charge ports making it a nice companion for a workspace. The power pot doesn’t use inputs from power sockets rather your charges it via your plants.
- LEGO-like Assembly: The modular shape of the plant pots allows for limitless creativity to make your own unique arrangement. You can stack them high, spread them out, add Humidifiers or Lamps and grow a large variety of plants.
LeGrow Components and Specifications
- LED Lamp: It has 2 LED bulbs. The height of the light is adjustable and the luminosity can be varied to suit your plant's needs. Lastly, the lamp offers users with a friendly white light.
- Humidifier: It releases about 30 ml of water per hour and has a storage capacity that lasts for 6 hours. It has an auto shut down and start feature which closes operation when it is out of water and resumes again once the water is refilled.
- Power Pot: It provides 4 USB ports with DC 5V, 36W total output which is compatible with most USB powered devices.
- Base Growing Pot: The garden starts here. Each pot is 85*85*100mm and can retain up to 30 ml of water.
- Base Tray: The base tray comes in 3 variants Single Tray, Corner Tray and Triple Tray. The base pots can be connected together with base trays to keep your garden clean and tidy.
- Connector: Using silicon connectors you can stack the pots as high as you want, and in fun designs.
