Brain Octane Oil Review

Brain Octane Oil is a unique new supplement that claims to be 18x more potent than coconut oil at delivering brain-boosting caprylic fatty acids into your body.

Find out everything you need to know about Brain Octane Oil today in our review.

What is Brain Octane Oil?

Brain Octane Oil is a new supplement created by Bulletproof, the lifestyle company that was founded by a self-made Silicon Valley millionaire.

Brain Octane Oil is 18 times stronger than coconut oil at delivering caprylic fatty acids to your brain. Caprylic fatty acids are thought to be responsible for cognitive energy, focus, concentration, and reduced “brain fog”.

Many people take coconut oil for its cognition-boosting benefits. Brain Octane Oil is thought to work in a similar way – it’s just much more powerful.

The oil itself is flavorless and odorless. The manufacturer claims it can be added to any liquid or food to give yourself an easy mental boost.

The oil is made from a highly concentrated version of coconut oil and palm kernels. The supplement promises to be more effective and concentrated than “weaker Caprylic Acid capsules” and is priced at 25% of the cost. Brain Octane Oil is priced at $1.07 per ounce while caprylic acid capsules are priced at around $3.78 per ounce.

Who Makes Brain Octane Oil?

Brain Octane Oil is made by a company called Bulletproof. The company was founded by Dave Asprey, a Silicon Valley investor and technology entrepreneur who recently went on a multi-year journey to improve his health.

Dave claims he spent $300,000 consulting with traditional healers, doctors, naturopaths, and psychologists from all over the world. He lost 100 pounds and raised his IQ by more than 20 points by following these techniques.

Today, Dave wants to share these techniques with the world through the Bulletproof lifestyle. Key products sold by Bulletproof include the popular Bulletproof Coffee and the New York Times bestselling book The Bulletproof Diet. Dave also has a popular health-oriented podcast called Bulletproof Radio.

Brain Octane Oil is just one more product under the Bulletproof lineup. If you want to live a “bulletproof” lifestyle and fight back against aging, disease, and lethargy, then Brain Octane Oil and the other Bulletproof products promise to help.

Benefits of Brain Octane Oil

Bulletproof claims that Brain Octane Oil comes with all of the following benefits:

— Fast energy for the brain

— Fuel for a “starved brain”, including ketones that your brain uses to metabolize glucose for energy

— Reduced brain fog (Brain Octane Oil claims to do this by reducing levels of candida, which is a gut yeast responsible for producing toxic chemicals in your bloodstream)

— Flavorless, odorless, and easy to add to any meal, beverage, or smoothie

— Easy to store with no refrigeration required (store at room temperature)

How to Use Brain Octane Oil

Bulletproof provides specific instructions on how to use Brain Octane Oil.

You should start taking the supplement one teaspoon at a time before slowly increasing your dosage over several days. Eventually, you should be taking 1 to 3 tablespoons per day.

You can take Brain Octane Oil by itself, but most people mix it with other foods and beverages, including smoothies, salad dressings, or other recipes.

You can also cook or bake Brain Octane Oil with heat, although you should only use it in recipes that involve temperatures lower than 320 degrees Fahrenheit.

Bulletproof also claims the best results come from mixing Brain Octane Oil with other Bulletproof products, including Bulletproof Coffee.

Final Thoughts: Who Should Use Brain Octane Oil?

Brain Octane Oil is a unique supplement that delivers a highly-concentrated form of coconut oil into your body. The oil is purported to increase cognitive functionality and boost your memory, focus, and concentration.

If you have been taking – or thinking of taking – coconut oil for the nutritional benefits, then Brain Octane Oil may be a good alternative. It’s 18 times stronger than conventional coconut oil and can be safely mixed into most foods or beverages (it’s tasteless and odorless).

  1. I definitely needed brain defogging and energy. Saw Bulletproof Brain Octane at local Health Food Store. Could hardly believe the fast results. I even factored in the placebo effect. Now after 3 weeks, I am still with sustained energy and I can focus and take in information with ease. As a senior, I still forget words that I want to use in conversation but the struggle to recall is a way less. I am only taking 1 tablespoon a day. Also the caprylic acid as done wonders for yeast overgrowth symptoms such as oral thrush. Oh yes, I should mention that I do not feel hungry throughout the day. At first I was concerned but now, I just eat good, healthy meals that are smaller. Great Stuff !!!

  2. The brain creates ATP (the substance that provides energy) by aerobic metabolism (the Kreb cycle in mitochondria). In cases of EXTREME starvation- when there is no glucose to metabolize- the brain will revert to using ketone bodies to create ATP. While this process will provide the brain with ATP for a short time (perhaps enough time so that the person can get a source of glucose), long term it produces a condition known as ketoacidosis which is deadly. If you have ready access to food, your brain isn’t “starving” and so doesn’t need ketones. And if it did, your last problem would be taking an oil supplement. This is junk science meant to use big words to con people into spending money for nothing at all. The FDA does not review dietary supplements so they are not subject to the same laws as medicine and don’t have to disclose “proprietary” ingredients.

  3. I’ve been considering getting it so have never used it yet. In my research I found a video on the Bulletproof Facebook page saying that it is now 100% coconut oil derived. Originally they did use some palm oil.

  4. Recently purchased this product and on the container it said it contained coconut oil and/or Palm oil. Does this mean there may not be any coconut oil in the product. Also why is the source country of the ingredients not available?

    • This is my exact questions as well. I just bought it too. “And/or” seems to be deceiving. And I’m assuming it’s NOT nonGMO. So it probably contains genetically modified ingredients ?
Is there anyone who can answer Dee’s and my questions?
      Thank you

      • It is now stated on the Bulletproof site: ‘The coconut source in Brain Octane comes from sustainable, organic coconut plantations across Southeast Asia’…’packaged in fully recyclable, BPA-free plastic bottles. These bottles do not release any chemicals into the oil and the oil is only touching other oil molecules as a single molecule of oil bonds to the inner wall of the bottle. Please help the environment by recycling your used bottles.
