Brain Calm Review

Brain Calm
is a nootropic supplement created by a company called Douglas Laboratories. Find out how this unique amino acid-based supplement can help you fall asleep in our Brain Calm review.

What is Brain Calm?

Brain Calm is a nootropic supplement manufactured by Douglas Laboratories. The supplement claims to use an “effective blend of critical amino acids and nutrients” to give you a calmer brain.

The supplement costs approximately $25 for a one month supply. You take two capsules daily to help you fall asleep at night and restore your body’s natural sleep cycles. You can buy Brain Calm either online from DouglasLabs.com or from Amazon.

You’re supposed to take Brain Calm at night. It’s not a nootropic that promotes focus, concentration, or improved memory. It’s purely designed to help you fall asleep at night and soothe your restless brain.

How Does Brain Calm Work?

Brain Calm uses a small number of active ingredients to achieve its desired effects. Those active ingredients include:

— 500mg of Inositol
— 100mg of GABA
— 50mg of Glycine
— 100mg of Passion Flower Extract

Together, these ingredients calm the brain by raising levels of GABA. GABA is the neurotransmitter that regulates sleep cycles, body temperature, hormone synthesis, and other critical bodily functions. By raising natural GABA levels, you can enjoy a feeling of soothing calmness throughout your body.

Brain Calm Ingredients

As mentioned above, Brain Calm contains 4 active ingredients. Here’s what the product label looks like:

First, let’s talk about inositol. It’s a chemical found in all animal tissues, with particularly high concentrations in the brain and heart. Inositol can be found in the outer lining of all your body’s cells and plays a critical role in nerve and muscle functionality.

Second, GABA is an amino acid that functions as a neurotransmitter in the brain. GABA plays an important role all throughout the body, but it plays its most noticeable role in regulating our sleep cycles. Our body produces GABA when it gets dark outside. When we stay up late close to digital screens all night, it’s difficult for our bodies to produce GABA – which is why so many people have trouble sleeping with their busy modern lifestyles.

Glycine is another amino acid that plays a less important role throughout the body. Douglas Laboratories included it in the supplement because it “plays an important role in the activity of certain neurotransmitters.” They didn’t elaborate on exactly what that meant.

Douglas Laboratories also didn’t provide an explanation to show why passion flower was included in the supplement. The University of Maryland Medical Center, however, claims that passion flower has traditionally been used across the Americas and Europe as a soothing herb.

How to Use Brain Calm

The manufacturer recommends that adults take two capsules of Brain Calm every day with their evening meal or at bedtime.

The supplement is not recommended for those who have an existing medical condition or are currently taking medication. If you fall into either of these groups, then it’s recommended you talk to your doctor before using Brain Calm.

Store Brain Calm in a cool, dry place away from direct light when it’s not in use, and keep it out of reach of children.
