Sweat Cosmetics Review – Will It Work For You?

Do you like wearing cosmetics – but hate when you sweat them off your face? Sweat Cosmetics may be for you. The company has created a lineup of cosmetics and sun care products for active women. Here’s our review.

What is Sweat Cosmetics?

Sweat Cosmetics is a lineup of cosmetic products marketed towards active women who sweat. If you want to wear cosmetic products or sun care products while still living an active lifestyle, then Sweat Cosmetics may be the right products for you.

The company claims its products “work as hard as you do.” While conventional cosmetics may run off your face with sweat, Sweat Cosmetics products promise to stay with you through rain, sweat, or shine.

The company is relatively new and currently offers two core products: a Translucent Mineral Powder and a Mineral Foundation. However, they’re launching two new products, a Mineral Illuminator and a Mineral Bronzer, in the very near future.

All products are currently available for sale online through SweatCosmetics.com. The company is preparing to launch its Sweat lineup across retail outlets in the near future.

How Do Sweat Cosmetics Products Work?

Sweat Cosmetics products use special waterproof technology to stick to your skin without sliding off. Despite their waterproof protection, the products claim to be breathable and free of harmful chemicals.

The company is also careful to call its products “water-resistant” and not waterproof (they’ll last for 40 to 80 minutes of use in the water). Here’s how the company describes the technology behind their products:

“Breathable, water-resistant and translucent mineral powder that allows you to protect your skin with all-natural SPF while sweating. Sweat’s hypoallergenic and dermatologist approved formula is free of oil, fragrance, silicone and parabens.”

That description comes from the Sweat Cosmetics foundation. You can apply that foundation alone as a sheer sunscreen or over makeup to give you a “soft, finished look”.

Many of the company’s products come with that same SPF 30 protection.

Sweat Cosmetics has a relatively small lineup of products currently available. Those products include all of the following:

Sweat Cosmetics Features

Sweat Cosmetics advertises some common features across all of its products. Those features include:

— Natural Ingredients: The ingredients are hypoallergenic and dermatologist approved to be free of oil, fragrance, silicone, and parabens.

— Refillable: You can refill all shades of Sweat Cosmetics products and buy refills at a cheaper price than brand new products.

— Cruelty Free: Sweat does not test on animals, “just on athletes”. In addition, its brushes aren’t made from animal products. They’re smooth synthetic fabrics.

— UV Protection: The Sweat mineral powder is an all-natural physical sunscreen that is active on contact and provides SPF 30 protection without clogging up pores.

— Hypoallergenic: There are no potential allergens in Sweat products, and all products are free of oils, fragrances, silicone, and parabens.

Ultimately, the company claims to be the only lineup of cosmetic products created exclusively for active women. It claims that all products are carefully thought out to meet the demands of an active lifestyle. The ingredients are handpicked after careful consideration to ensure they don’t negatively affect the skin or flood your body with chemicals.

Products also come with unique ingredients like milk thistle extract, an anti-inflammatory that may reduce UV damage. Rhodiola Rosea can also be found in Sweat protects, where it acts as an antioxidant with anti-aging properties.

Although Sweat calls its products “water-resistant” (not waterproof), the company does claim you can swim with the products on:

“You should however, constantly apply and reapply before getting in and after getting out of the water.”

The mineral powder foundation and translucent powder are water-resistant up to 80 minutes and 40 minutes, respectively, after getting into the water. So they’re not waterproof all day, but they’ll stay on your face for at least a brief swim or dip.

The sun protection in Sweat Cosmetics products comes from zinc oxide and titanium, which is described as “an immediate barrier against the sun for the user.” Using the powdered form of both these metals, Sweat claims to have provided powerful sun protection without excessive thickness on the skin.
