SlimPlate System Review – Real Weight Loss?

Have you ever heard about the weight loss trick where eating off smaller plates tricks your brain into thinking it’s full? SlimPlate System is an online weight loss system that comes with its own set of small plates included.

What is SlimPlate System?

SlimPlate System is an online weight loss system that consists of four 30 day weight loss cycles. There are 21 videos of weight loss coaching in total, each of which teaches you various diet strategies and advice.

But the core of the SlimPlate System is a set of fine china plates. These plates – as you may have guessed from the name of the program – are specially designed to be slim. When you put food on them, your brain is tricked into thinking the portions are bigger than they really are. Thus, you subconsciously eat less food. Or at least that’s the idea.

The makers of SlimPlate System claim these plates are worth $119 on their own. However, they’re included in the package “at no extra cost to you” (except from the full $145 cost of the original program).

How do these weight loss systems work? Let’s take a closer look.

How Does SlimPlate System Work?

We all know how slim plates are supposed to work: you put food on them and that food looks bigger than it really is. You eat less food, feel full, and still lose weight. We get it.

That’s why the creators of SlimPlate System spend a lot more time explaining how their weight loss program works. Here’s a brief overview of the core features:

  • The program consists of four cycles of 30 days each
  • There are 21 videos “full of weight loss coaching”
  • The lessons and advice are “based on science, not gimmicks”
  • It’s a weight loss and exercise system, including 40 exercise videos that show you how to do effective workouts at home

After signing up for the SlimPlate System, you get access to a free mobile app as well as the members’ area of the official website.

Why should you listen to the creators of SlimPlate System? Well, the doctors behind the system wrote a book called Fat-Me-Not: Weight Loss Diet of the Future, where they discussed the science behind this very weight loss system. They also presented the results of that research at the American Society of Obesity Medicine Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida in 2012.

Aside from that, we know very little information about these doctors.

Who Created the SlimPlate System?

SlimPlate System was created by Ace Medical Weight Loss Program, which also does business under the name Ace Medical Weight Loss Center, LLC or simply under the name SlimPlate System.

That company creates online weight loss videos that emphasize professional portion control techniques that lead to easy and effective weight loss. They’re based at the following address:

744 Arden Lane, Suite 101
Rock Hill, SC 29732

The company’s About page describes how its team consists of “weight loss experts and American Board Certified Medical Doctors” who believe in science, not gimmicks.

You can get in touch with the company by emailing [email protected] or by calling (803) 325-1111.

SlimPlate System Pricing

SlimPlate System comes with two membership options: a one-time payment or five separate payments.

  • One-Time Payment: $145
  • 5 Monthly Payments: $39 x 5 ($195)

Both programs contain the same content. With both programs, you also get the actual SlimPlate System set, which is a set of fine bone china dishware. Oddly enough, the company doesn’t go into any detail about which type of dishware you get. They only claim you get a “SlimPlate System set, made of fine bone china.” They also claim you get 13 pieces – although it’s unclear which pieces you receive. We couldn’t find any further information in customer reviews online.

If you’re unhappy with SlimPlate System, you can return the dishware within 30 days for a complete refund (minus shipping costs). Obviously, when you’re shipping a large number of china dishes, those shipping costs could add up to a significant amount.

Should You Use the SlimPlate System to Lose Weight?

There’s not a lot of information about the SlimPlate System available online. It’s unclear if you’re paying $145 to $195 for the weight loss program or for the dishes. With the weight loss system, you get 4 months (4 x 30 day sessions) of weight loss advice based on “science not gimmicks”, but we don’t get many further details about the program.

Meanwhile, with the dishes, you only know you’re receiving 13 fine china dishes of some variety.

Ultimately, based on this information, it’s hard to see why someone would want to shell out $145 or $195 for SlimPlate System. That’s a lot of money for an unclear product. We don’t even get further details about the doctors behind the system – although apparently they’re board-certified. With all this in mind, it’s hard to recommend SlimPlate System at its current price point.
